Plugin won’t activate / features not working

The Member Manager plugin requires additional Chamber Dashboard plugins to be installed & activated on your site. If you are getting an error when trying to activate your plugin, please check to be sure that you are using the most current version of these plugins and that the required plugins have been activated on your site.

Paypal IPN Error

If you are receiving the following error when trying to process Paypal payments the the Member Manager plugin:  

Please check your server that handles PayPal Instant Payment Notifications (IPN). IPNs sent to the following URL(s) are failing:  https://yoursite.com/?cdash-member-manager=paypal-ipn   

Try activating the IPN settings in your Paypal account and adding this URL (updated with your site’s domain) as the Notification URL in your Paypal account. http://your-site.com/?cdash-member-manager=paypal-ipn

PayPal Error: Things don’t appear to be working at the moment.

If members are receiving the following error when submitting the Join Now form: “Things don’t appear to be working at the moment. Please try again later.

Encrypted Website Payments

Your members may see this error if Encrypted Website Payments set to ON. Setting it to OFF will resolve the issue. To update this setting, login to your PayPal account, go to Profile >> Website Payments – set Encrypted Website Payments’ to OFF.

There is a problem with your PayPal account

This error can occur if your new account isn’t fully setup or if PayPal locked your account down for some reason. You may need to reach out to PayPal to confirm that your account is in good standing and there are no problems.

Do my members have to user Paypal to join?

Is Paypal the only payment gateway available?

If you are using the free version of the Member Manager plugin, Paypal is currently the only payment gateway available. However, your members do not have to have a Paypal account in order to pay.  They can choose to use their own credit card once they get to the Paypal screen.

We suggest simply adding a note on the page with the membership form that lets people know about this option, like we have done on our demo site here: https://chamber-beautiful.chamberdashboard.com/membership-form/

Not authorized to edit

You are not authorized to edit your business

If you are seeing this message during testing – “You are not authorized to edit your business” – check the following:

  • Business listing has been published.
  • People record is published & connected to the Business.
  • User is connected to the correct People record.
  • You are logged in as the user, not the admin.

Business listings going from ‘current’ to ‘lapsed’

If you have a Business listing that is getting automatically switched from ‘current’ status to ‘lapsed’ status, please check the following:

  • Open the Business listing in edit mode.
  • On the right, scroll down until you see the list of ‘Connected Invoices’.
  • Open each invoice & make sure it has been marked as ‘paid’ or deleted if no longer needed.

See all invoices for a specific Business

You can also see all invoices for a Business from the Invoice list. Filter the invoice list for a single Business by clicking on the Connected Business name.

Invoices not being sent

If your invoices are not being sent, check to see if your site is sending any notifications at all. It may be that you need to install an SMTP plugin.

Renewal form not working

When you enter the first few letters of a current Business listing into the renewal form, a popup will appear with the Business name. When you select the listing, the existing billing information will be auto-filled on the form for the member’s convenience.

If the popup does not appear, try enabling popups in your browser.

Check for plugin or theme conflict

With thousands of themes and plugins available in the WordPress ecosystem, you may occasionally run into an issue that is being caused by a 3rd party theme or plugin that you have active on your installation.
